Popularly knows as the Castell dels Tres Dragons (Three Dragons Castle), this stunning building was designed by the famous architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner for the World’s Fair of 1888. It currently hosts the Zoology Museum of Barcelona.
Castell dels Tres Dragons built between 1887 and 1888, is located at Parc de la Ciutadella and it is one of the most important examples of the Art Nouveau (Modernisme Català).
Castell dels Tres Dragons is built of brick and iron laminated building is crowned with a castle battlements. Plant is almost square, with four towers at the corners and perimeter walkways between a double facade.
Parc de la Ciutadella also hosts the Zoology Museum of Barcelona and the Museum of Geology.
Lluís Domenech i Montaner is considered along with Antoni Gaudi as one of the most representative artists of the Art Nouveau (Modernisme Català). Barcelona has many buildings of his work, some of the most relevant are Palau de la Música, Hospital de Sant Pau or Casa Fuster.
