ZOO Barcelona

Barcelona Zoo is an ideal place to spend a fun day with the kids, enjoying among many species of animals.

The enclosure of an area of ​​12 hectares, located within the city of Barcelona has many areas acclimated to the homes of the animals and also various open and closed areas for shows and activities to interact with animals, ideal for kids. Besides, there are different areas for picnics and catering.

Zoo Barcelona

Barcelona Zoo was inaugurated the 11th of September 1892, in 2012 the Zoo has celebrated its 120 anniversary.

Around 4000 animals from about 400 different species of animals live at Barcelona Zoo. The most famous animal that lived at Barcelona Zoo was ‘Copito de nieve’ (Snowflake) the first albino gorilla ever known. Copito de nieve was born between 1963 and 1964 at Guinea Equatorial and arrived to Barcelona Zoo in 1966 where he lived until he died at 24th November 2003.

Snowflake was an important symbol for Barcelona Zoo and the city. Its presence captivated adults and children from all over the world, and brought millions of visitors and scientists to the zoo.

Club members are available which allow free entry during a year for an annual fee of 84€ for family membership.

General rates are 19,00€ adults, 11,40€ children (3 to 12 years old), 9,95€ seniors and 5,60€ disabled people.
