Concerts in Barcelona

Besides of being visited by the nice weather, Barcelona is also visited by a wide and sensational musical offer to become all us mad of seing our favourite bands playing new and old songs and along different concerts and music festivals. Barcelona is as well as Madrid, one of the most preferred cities where to play in Spain and Europe for most of the international bands.

Bands and singers like Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Metallica, Rolling Stones, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Killers, Aerosmith and so on, always include Barcelona as one of the notable stops on their European Tours.

SAN MIGUEL PRIMAVERA SOUND: Pop, Rock and Electronic music are enjoyed in this unforgivable festival. Primavera Sound is holded at Parc del Forum (Barcelona) by the end of May (usually lasts 2-3 days). Among the most relevant bands playing are: THE CURE, FRANZ FERDINAND, PIXIES, PET SHOP BOYS, WILCO, DEATH IN VEGAS, SR. CHINARRO, SAINT ETIENNE, THE CHARLATANS, ORBITAL, … among many others. Primavera Sound 2013 is holded between the 22nd and 25th of May.

Prices vary are approxemately 70€ per day and 170€ (3 days ticket)

SONAR (Electronic Festival): the electronic and experimental most famous festival in the world is performed in Barcelona every year since 1994 at June. The whole city becomes in a futuristic and alternative place with loads of concerts and performances to enjoy. Best DJs in world and bands like CHEMICAL BROTHERS, PET SHOP BOYS, 2MANYDJS, SCISSORS SISTERS, GOLDFRAPP, DELOREAN… have been present (only to mention a few). Sonar 2013 is holded between the 13th and 15th of June.

Prices vary depending on the day/night and go from 45€ to 155€ (3 days ticket)

Sonar Festival is usually performed in Forum although MACBA and Fira Gran Via may held some other concerts.

GREC: Summer Festival of art and music in Barcelona during the summer season. Previous editions where based on thematic areas such on Japanes culture while other editions we could enjoy the presence of Bob Dylan, will be based mainly on Japanese culture.

The proceedings of the Grec Festival will be represented in the follosing theatres: Teatre Grec, Plaza del Rey, TNC, Teatre lliure and Mercat de les Flors.

Other venues such as Sala Razzmatazz, Sala Apolo, Sidecar, Luz de Gas, Sala Mephisto and Sala Bikini offer live concerts. Check the schedule out at the above links. These venues are also night-clubs when no gig is scheduled.

We recommend: JazzSí Club (C/Requesens besides Ronda Universidad) live music bar is a meeting point for professionals and music students. Open all days from 19:00 approx., free entry but a drink is a must.
